"UPSC" When I cleared my CA Final in 2018,I had a high inclination towards becoming IAS officer and making an Impact on the lives of people. I had listened to 100's of Toppers Interviews , read 100's of answers on preparation Strategies. In this process, I also read many answers written by retired bureaucrats who expressed their dissatisfaction towards their tenure as IAS/IPS/IRS officer. 99% of the people who have this dream of clearing UPSC come with a "Sacred" purpose of serving the people and making an Impact on the society through their work. Unfortunately,the system has become in such a way that a genuine candidate cannot sustain with an unadulterated Mindset. There are many such examples on the Internet where the civil servants got killed because of being brutally honest or got transferred because of their Integrity. There are many other examples where civil servants resigned and Joined in either Politics or Entrepreneurship. Now, the point I want to establish is regarding the cost-Benefit factor. A 21 year old guy who is having a genuine intention of doing something good for the society has got many other alternatives to UPSC. If you can calculate,the time spent by aspirants every year towards UPSC is very very huge.The contribution towards GDP by these aspirants is very Insignificant(It's actually=0,But I'm taking into account the Chai,sutta expenditure) Now, Fortunately,we are in a position to make such impact through many other ways.One such example is Entrepreneurship!!!. Entrepreneurship demands all the qualities that are required for an IAS,be it, Leadership, Communication,Courage, Empathy,Vision,Problem solving attitude etc and also gives you all the opportunities to make an Impact,get fame,Be independent,earn money etc. So,if you're thinking to make a change,In addition to UPSC,consider other alternatives especially Entrepreneurship!!!
